Surreptitious and sophisticated, the plush interiors of 5 Hertford Street have become a favourite for Mayfair’s socialites. Founded in 2012 by Robin Birley, son of Annabel’s founder Mark Birley, the ornate but homely walls house two restaurants, three bars, a courtyard and a cinema room, as well as private dining and meeting spaces. Such opulent surrounds have attracted local hedgies and private bankers alike, often entertaining new or perspective clients. The nightclub, Loulou’s, has seen more than its share of celebrity clientele, from actors to musicians and royals. Recently this has included the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge and George Clooney, as well as models and A-listers enjoying the underlit discretion offered down the Shepherd’s Market side street.
