Values of art collections have increased markedly over several decades and can now represent a large portion of a collector’s estate,’ says financier and art collector Andrea Danese, Athena Art Finance CEO and president. With an additional ‘softening’ in the art market this year, he explains, collectors are increasingly using their collections to generate liquidity. ‘While art financing is still relatively new, demand has been growing,’ he explains. ‘We launched Athena Art Finance specifically to tap into this trend.’ They help private collectors and art market professionals tap into the value of their collections. A client-focused flexible approach is the key to their success, he says. They are backed by $280 million equity investment.
