She notes philanthropists are increasingly turning to donor advised funds on bigger charitable gifts, averting the demands of running their own foundations. Self-made younger millionaires are keen to start giving their money away fairly early on in their lives, she says. They are ‘highly attuned to the fact that they have been very successful and that it is their duty to give something back’.
