After obtaining his PhD in Classical Archaeology from Harvard University and working as keeper of the collection of ancient coins at the Fogg Art Museum, Dr Florent Heintz joined Sotheby’s Antiquities department in 2001.Based in London, he is one of two senior specialists at the head of the department which offers a selection of Egyptian, Classical and Near-Eastern antiquities,including fine sculptures and reliefs, bronzes, terracottas,textiles and jewellery. Sales take place once a year in London, attracting interest from over 45 countries. Landmark sales have included those of property from the collections of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Clarence Day,Charles Pankow, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.
