With buildings in Moorgate and Bank, Eight offers that rare thing in the City: privacy and seclusion in dining and drinking spaces. The restaurant, Quartier, is surrounded by a terrace, providing some very valuable breathing space inside the finance district’s busy streets. In the club it’s easy enough to relax in the generous lounge and bar areas — but if you want to really escape, Eight has its own affiliate vineyard, Les Tannes, in Languedoc. For the City types who find its private areas so valuable when it comes to business, the club also offers a sporting diary centred around favourites such as cycling and golf, as well as catering for the more cavalier with a poker offering. The Moorgate branch opened in 2009, while Eight’s Bank HQ recently celebrated a decade in the square mile.
