George lyall isn’t so sure that Britain’s vote to leave the EU has done much to ruffle clients’ feathers: ‘I don’t believe that Brexit will affect my clients in the long run, other than because of current uncertainty which it is causing,’ says the chartered solicitor and accountant. Indeed, the biggest effects — as always, he notes — remain tax changes brought about by the chancellor. His clients range from London-based hedge fund and insurance company principals to directors of aeronautical engineering and telecoms businesses, and he sits on a number of their trusts. The Scotsman’s success is buoyed not least by the firm’s private client team’s ‘solid’ growth recently. The avid rugby fan also enjoys charity clay pigeon shooting events.
