She recently took over the ‘PJS’ case which ultimately forbade the British press from detailing a celebrity threesome, despite extensive international and online coverage. Afia insists the case was very much in the public interest. ‘The argument was that because the information was available in America and online, it was pointless to maintain an injunction in England. Had that argument won, it would have been the end of practical privacy protection in this country.’ A regular commentator for UK and international media, Afia was named Spear’s Reputation Lawyer of the Year in 2015.
