Private Members Clubs

Barely altered since it’s opening in 1973 by Mark Birley, the winds of change are whistling through this esteemed Mayfair club. Originally built as a private house, last year the club had a subtle facelift courtesy of Paris based designer Tino Zervudachi who, whilst keeping the antique furniture, William Morris prints and red fabrics, extended the smoking terrace, refitted the kitchens and created a new ‘Circus Room’ with big top ceiling and lithographs by Fernand Léger. ‘When you walk into the Club, there is a feeling of escaping the everyday routine,’ says current director of the club Darius Namdar. ‘We think the club still provides a classic setting for both business and pleasure. And it’s still a haven fiercely cherished by its members.’
