It’s been a very busy few years for Michael Graham and his Belfast-based private client team at Cleaver Fulton Rankin, rich with ‘real growth’ in client work being taken on. Its own ranks have swollen, too, with recent hires making it now the largest private client team in the city. The department head sees private client work in Northern Ireland as a rather different arena from that in London — the key being Northern Ireland’s size relative to the rest of the UK: it’s much easier to get to know HNW and UHNW clients on a personal level than it might be in London, he says. This means his team is more prepared to act for a ‘broader range of clients in terms of wealth and circumstances’ than larger London firms might be prepared to do.
