‘Practical, pragmatic, real-life advice’ is almost a personal slogan for Nimesh Shah, senior partner of Blick Rothenberg. ‘We have an open dialogue with all of our clients and, given the complexity of the current political situation, they certainly appreciate the transparency,’ he says. Shah has been heavily involved in discussions with the Treasury and HMRC, and his team has had particular influence during the non-domiciled consultation. ‘We felt that we had a responsibility, both to the profession and to our clients, to ensure that we had an input on that,’ he explains. Shah was encouraged to find that many of his team’s suggestions were then taken forward into the final legislation.
