‘I’m on a mission to improve the journeys of start-ups,’ Peter Cowley says, ‘by educating angels and entrepreneurs to make fewer mistakes, work better together and produce more successful exits’. An angel who has invested in more than 55 high-growth start-ups, Cowley is Martlet’s investment director. He and his crew spend ‘many hours with a huge variety of passionate entrepreneurs’ to assist with the growth of their businesses. The company, started by defence giant Marshall of Cambridge, has invested £4 million in 35 start-ups. The Cambridge graduate has set up more than ten technology and property companies in his 30-year career. Away from the office, he indulges in ‘squash, skiing, and, most importantly, being a dad’.
