The likeable and well-connected immigration head Philip Barth advises a range of HNWs, wealth managers and family offices on complex immigration issues. He is never one to cut corners. ‘We’re almost like an imprimatur of quality and non-avoidance,’ he says. Formerly a corporate lawyer, the Cambridge graduate brings a highly commercial perspective to his work. He founded Withers’ HNW immigration practice in 2013 after nine years at Penningtons Manches, and sat on the Kirkhope Commission, which was established to investigate the workings of the UK asylum system and propose new immigration policy. Barth was a member of the Home Office working group that devised the points-based system.
