Company director Simon Aitken, previously from rival company Howden, is responsible for developing business within Gauntlet and has a wealth of experience in advising UK Domiciled and Non Domiciled families with complex insurance requirements. It’s a dream role for the fine art and property enthusiast – the insurance broker not only specialises in fine town and country houses, fine art and jewellery but also large farms and rural estates.
One of the leading independent boutique players in the industry, Gauntlet has been serving its clientele for over 35 years. Its current book contains assets valued in excess of £8 billion, which includes ‘many of the best known homes and art collections in Europe’.
In a highly competitive market, Aitken has seen a strong flow of enquiries, but with a clear demand for ‘service, knowledge, attention to detail and advice’ from discerning clients. ‘This is something Gauntlet takes great care and pride over,’ he enthuses.
When not scanning the economic markets for risk, Aitken enjoys travelling and relaxing with his young family – a role which sees him often playing peacekeeper between his two sons.
