With a career spanning more than 50 years in the business, the Barbados-born Sir Michael Stoute is a true flat racing icon. He has won champion trainer ten times and is the only trainer to have won an English Classic in five successive seasons in 20th century. A regular at Ascot where he trained HM the Queen’s horse Estimate to win the Gold Cup in 2013 — marking the first victory of its kind for a reigning monarch — his career highlights are myriad. Some of his HNW-world highpoints include wins at the Dubai World Cup, the Breeders’ Cup Turf, the Japan Cup, and the Hong Kong Vase. He also trained Shergar, perhaps his best-known horse. He currently trains at Highclere and the Freemason Lodge Stables in Newmarket.
