‘We’re not a tuition company,’ says Sophie Green of SGA, which she set up in 2012. ‘We provide academic mentoring. We initially do an evaluation on a client’s child, looking at emotional resilience, determination, growth versus fixed mindset and their decisionmaking process.’ Green says SGA’s ‘diagnostics toolkit’ is most useful at the transitional stages of a student’s life, as they choose which subjects to study, move school, or even graduate and start work. Clients include many families that move between the UK and Switzerland, as well as numerous notable educational establishments. Major banks are also benefitting from her team’s services, JP Morgan having just offered one of her students a graduate position.
