‘There’s been much more advice needed about being hired as opposed to fired,’ says Wyn Lewis, who has noticed a more proactive approach among his clientele of high-powered individuals. With corporate clients, he sees a shift from a ‘we’ve got to get this right’ view to a ‘that’s good enough’ approach. ‘Corporate clients have wanted more advice from experienced counsel about the choreography of how to deal with large or sensitive reorganisations — getting those wrong has more potential to damage a brand than a few tribunal claims from aggrieved individuals,’ he adds. The year’s highlights include advising individuals on multimillion-pound partnership severance deals in the financial sector. Lewis joined Golden Leaver in 2012.
