Martlet is an early stage start-up angel investor, proving investment for business-to-business technology companies.
In its five years since it was started up by aerospace and defence giant Marshall of Cambridge, it has invested £4 million in 35 start-ups, and Cowley and his team enjoy spending ‘many hours with a huge variety of passionate entrepreneurs, helping them grow their businesses with time and investment’.
Cowley is a hugely passionate man about being an entrepreneur. He’s been involved with ‘over 50 angel investments and their journeys’, the 60-year old veteran tells Spear’s.
Away from the office, he enjoys a variety of things, including ‘real tennis, squash, fell walking, skiing, duplicate bridge, the cinema, and, most importantly, being a dad’.
