As an educational consultant since 2013, Rhidian Llewellyn’s job is to introduce families to independent schools from pre-prep to university.
A previous headmaster at Papplewick (where he taught David Cameron Latin), and house master at the Dragon, he guides parents through ‘the strange and arcane mores’ of the British independent school system.
‘I don’t really like the word consultant,’ says Llewellyn, ‘but I’ll settle for it. My specialisation is in finding the right school for the right child.’
His job doesn’t end there; Llewellyn continues to act as envoy between school and parent, often keeping contact with pupils beyond the end of their education. As independent schooling becomes intensely competitive, Llewellyn maintains that ‘the child’s happiness is paramount’. He offers a very direct and personal service.
