Having studied finance and philosophy Waller appreciates the two sides of money, saying the combination lent itself to wealth management. ‘You’re understanding the nature of how people make decisions and the way you make decisions,’ she says. One decision she’s helped clients make is to choose her as their wealth manager, having built her client book from scratch, 60 per cent of which was by reaching out and identifying ‘where there has been an event for an individual that has created their wealth or if there is due to be an event that will create their wealth.’ Predictably, most of her clients are private equity owners following a liquidity event; so far she hasn’t lost any of them, saying organisation is her biggest asset. ‘For a lot of these individuals,’ she points out, ‘time is their barest necessity.’
