With Arbuthnot Latham buzzing with new enquiries, Denman has been a busy bee. ‘People came to us dissatisfied with existing providers,’ he says, resentment stemming from a lack of service and high staff turnover in other institutions, which irks clients above performance issues. The approachable director of private banking recently celebrated 30 years in the industry. He proudly articulates a breakdown: ‘Twelve at Coutts, eight at SG Hambros and ten so far at Artbuthnot.’ When asked why he chose the field, he said he had no strong reasons, ‘but looking back, I can’t imagine doing anything else. I love that feeling when you’ve done a good job.’
