Melville-Ross completed his training in commercial property, but the private client head’s focus when he joined Taylor Vinters in 2001 — where his Suffolk upbringing and family roots in country estates gave him the background to talk about such matters ‘in a grown-up way’. Clients include overseas investors — he’s been spending ‘rather a lot’ of time jetting back and forth to Asia in the past year — charitable institutions, ‘landedestate types’ and enterprising farmers. The Cambridge office’s proximity to Newmarket also attracts clients in the racing sector, both domestic and international.
