The Secret Agent was the name of a column that Gibson wrote in the Financial Times for five years; he now has a bespoke estate agency operating in prime central London. Nevertheless, the image of a suave, charming property spy seems to be more apt than ever. Having worked on Hollywood film sets, Gibson continues to work with celebrities, this time as they search for their dream London home. He’s disarmingly modest about why he’s the A-list’s go-to guy. ‘I guess it’s just because we’re quite a small business, so we rely on word of mouth,’ he says. ‘So people like “X” are kind enough to refer people on and they think we do a good job.’ Away from property, he is taking a PhD in creative writing.
