‘The only certain thing is that we will have a period of uncertainty,’ says Higgleton of the post-Brexit reckoning. ‘The key thing is to make sure no one does anything rash.’ There’s plenty going on outside Brexit’s shadow, she adds, pointing to the non-dom changes and the need for her client base to reassess.
Higgleton credits her team with being able to meet clients’ needs, from assessing risk to designing a business strategy or establishing a charity or trust.
But being at the centre of a wheel of services means she has an obligation to clarify the often complex world of tax for her client families: ‘There’s no point having a massively academic, technical structure that no one really understands the purpose of.’
