Wereszczynski has had a good year. His revenues at RBC Wealth Management grew by ‘about 31 per cent’ and AuM by about 13 per cent, thanks to an uptick in investment activity and something of a boom in transactions. While a number of his clients still want an allocation in prime central London property — an area where they made ‘quite substantial’ returns in 2014, he says — the family office and UHNW group director sees many of them ‘unwinding’ some of their holdings and returning to more ‘conventional’ markets. ‘It’s not a fire sale,’ he tells Spear’s, reassuringly. ‘They just see better opportunity elsewhere.’ He’s also noticed an increased appetite for lending during the past year, with clients chasing a favourable horizon on interest rates.
