Acton isn’t interested in short-term investing. As a marathon runner, she is used to focusing on endurance rather than a sprint — a philosophy that suits capgen, the boutique firm she joined last year and where she serves multi-generational international families. She was previously at partners group, advising family offices and entrepreneurs on fund investing and co-investment opportunities. She says the best thing about Capgen is that it builds each portfolio independently. ‘Because there is no such thing as a Capgen “typical portfolio” and Capgen does not have its own funds or products,’ she explains, ‘it allows the firm to be sectoragnostic and opportunistic when looking at investment strategies, rather than selling the fund of the week to clients, or chasing a theme that happens to be in vogue.’
