Haimes started his financial career working in research in New York and Hong Kong, then came to London to focus on corporate banking at Deutsche Bank; he now heads Credit Suisse’s family office and institutional clients. Wealth management gives Haimes the ‘perfect balance’ between clients and markets. Recent growth has been considerable, he says, pointing to Credit Suisse’s acquisition of Morgan Stanley’s EMEA business last year — a move that brought ‘not only new clients on board, but also some very talented bankers and investment specialists’. Haimes wants to provide clients with a global service and is looking to capitalise on that offering and get ahead of the curve. ‘The HNW/UHNW segment is expected to grow at 8 per cent in the next five years,’ he says.
