Sophie Jewson

Jewson’s first job was as a professional chef, which she describes as ‘a remarkably useful experience for dealing with difficult people, multitasking and troubleshooting all sorts of potential disasters’. Eight years ago, she decided to move to finance, with a stint at Results International, a corporate finance boutique in Mayfair, before joining Sarasin in 2012. Compared with hungry customers, multimillionaire investors may seem accommodating. At Sarasin, she is business development manager, making sure that clients are matched with the right team and looked after properly by their advisers. The firm’s private client department focuses on UK and international business-owners — including Americans. But she still plans on heading her own business one day. ‘Oh yeah,’ she says. ‘I’ll take over the world.’
