The financial crisis taught us that short-termism can be dangerous for investors. Few financial institutions can boast a longer horizon than Hoare’s, the UK’s oldest surviving independent bank. Charles Hoare Nairne is a member of the 11th generation of family involved in its management. He has over 25 years’ experience in financial services, having joined the firm in 2006. He previously worked for BZW Asia Pacific Equities, Kleinwort Benson Private Bank and Rathbone Bros, where he was previously an investment director and member of its investment committee focusing on HNW clients. The bank is selective in the number of new relationships it takes on in order to maintain high service levels.
