Francesco Lombardo, head of the Vancouver-based Veritage family office (and now author of five books) has a mission to create a ‘safe space’ for HNW and UHNW individuals, families and advisers. He states that many families do not have a proper dialogue: Lombardo instead seeks to address these ‘great white elephants’, which create division and lack of safety within the family. The offering is particularly popular among those ‘in their 40s or 30s’ whom he aims to mould into future leaders. ‘The biggest challenge when dealing with HNW and UHNW families is the initial communication between family members at the start of the process with us,’ he says. Fortunately, Veritage excels at bringing families together.
