I enjoy adapting to change,’ says Cryptalgo’s senior marketing manager Maria-Christina Perez de la Sala. As more HNWs begin looking for a route into crypto, Perez de la Sala describes the Swiss-based Cryptalgo as a fintech company that offers a secure global cryptocurrency Order Execution Management System (OEMS) and OTC services. The OEMS provides a ‘total view’ of the global crypto market – aggregating liquidity from all leading exchanges, and allowing for super-fast ‘best execution’ trading. Marketing digital assets to HNWs and institutional investors is a natural role for Perez de la Sala, who has returned to the financial services industry after a spell working with rock stars (including the late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence). Like most genre-defining bands beginning life as a sharp-squeal of guitar feedback, digital assets spent 2017 and 2018 making media noise and largely repelling the traditional finance world over fears of volatility and lack of regulation. But Cryptalgo now sees more traditional names taking their fingers out of their ears – not just to listen, but to actually like what they’re starting to hear. We all know that crypto is noisy and exciting, but Perez de la Sala tells Spear’s that they will soon play an essential role as a diversification tool. She adds: ‘For investment teams, the development of the crypto market will, once regulated, bring a new low-correlation asset class to complement their portfolios.’
