‘It’s in the blood,’ founder Rebekah Caudwell says of her connection with design. Her mother was an aesthete with ‘an innate sense of beauty, style and comfort – it had nothing to do with money’. Learning from the enterprise of her father, Phones 4U founder John Caudwell, the interior designer chose to set up the boutique establishment in 2009, after a ‘delightful’ detour of teaching Art History in Italy and a stint in property development. Her academic perspective, business and an eye for detail come together to create homes that are ‘personal, warm and expressive’. But Caudwell is not afraid of challenge. A self-professed ‘maximalist’, Caudwell’s works often displays bold colour and pattern, a testament to bravery in aesthetics.
