The Perth Mint is Australia’s largest precious metals enterprise. It belongs to a select group of gold refiners with accreditation from five of the world’s major gold exchanges. It exports more than $18 billion worth of bullion on a yearly basis. Clients include private individual investors, and sovereign wealth funds in more than 100 countries. The Perth Mint is the only Australian refiner accredited for both gold and silver by the London Bullion Market Association, and the only mint worldwide with government-guaranteed precious metal investment and storage options. It still operates from its original 1899 premises and the depository, which opened in 1994, is the most extensive network of bank-grade vaults in the southern hemisphere.
