Visitors can stay for up to six weeks at Clouds House, which adopts an abstinence-based approach to addressing addiction. Key elements of the treatment programme include supervised detoxes, group therapy and one-to-one relapse prevention counselling.
Programmes can also include reading and writing assignments, creative workshops, and a range of complementary therapies from Zumba to shiatsu. The centre, in the Wiltshire countryside, has helped thousands of patients over 30 years. Aftercare supports clients to make the transition from residential treatment, and provides advice for partners and families. It is run by the charity Action on Addiction, which also has a treatment centre called Hope House near Clapham Common.
