‘There’s no better counsel for HNW private children law matters – she is a brilliant strategist,’ says one colleague of Deborah Eaton’s.
‘When we walk away from cases, the family have to carry on. I look at what I can preserve and what my red lines are, rather than just steamrollering,’ says Eaton. A legend of the family Bar, she redefined the law regarding care sharing following a number of cases in 2011 and 2012, including K v K, in which she challenged the old-fashioned approach which loaded international relocation cases in favour of the mother.
When she isn’t fighting for her clients, she’s raising the profile of parental alienation and organising discussions around the mental health of children in disputes.
