A former keeper of ancient coins at Fogg Art Museum, London-based Florent Heintz boasts a classical archaeology PhD from Harvard and has written for several academic publications, including the Journal of Roman Archaeology.

Joining Sotheby’s antiquities department in 2001, he has intimate knowledge of a wide selection of Egyptian, classical and Near Eastern pieces, including fine sculptures and reliefs, bronzes, terracottas, textiles and jewellery.

Auctions at Sotheby’s take place in London twice-annually, and attract interest from over 45 countries. Most notable sales have included property from the famed collections of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Clarence Day, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.
