‘We provide high-quality, personal care,’ says Dr Paul Ettlinger, founder of The London General Practice based on Harley Street. The practice is renowned for swift same-day appointments, with a focus on personal, individualised health care. Its 11 doctors provide 24-hour general practice, with consultations lasting a minimum of 30 minutes. This allows adequate time for a comprehensive, thorough and accurate personal health assessment.
‘General practice is about competence, availability, and affability,’ Dr Ettlinger says. ‘We count royal families, celebrities and corporations among our patients. CEOs and HNWs are used to controlling things, but their health is different. We guide them, providing personal care and helping them with their medical problems.’ The firm’s doctors have considerable experience in working with a number of large organisations, offering a tailored service based on the requirements of a particular industry or profession.
Patients access a global network of doctors in the US, UAE, Dubai, Hong Kong and India. ‘We’ve strengthened our network around the world’ he adds. ‘In September I participated in a Department of International Trade delegation to the Middle East.’ Services also include occupational health for multinational companies, major insurers and the entertainment industry. ‘We provide excellence across the globe,’ says Ettlinger.
It is also important for the practice to provide personal, meaningful relationships with all patients. As well as a key focus on comprehensive private care, its preventative health care service includes general health screening, well-woman and well-man health screening, to address gender-specific health concerns.
The practice provides 24-hour, on-call care for patients as well as guests of the five-star London hotels, such as Claridge’s, The Berkeley, The Connaught and the Four Seasons. The practice provides health screening, based on the latest evidence-based guidance, with access to the latest scanning including 3T MRI, 360 CT, stress echo, PET scans and PET amyloid scans. The philosophy of the practice is to research all state of the art technology and treatments, and recently this included a review of stem cell therapies.
There is a clear focus on clinical governance in order to ensure the delivery of the very best for patients; acknowledged with excellent results in all areas following a recent inspection by the CQC UK regulatory body. Dr Ettlinger’s interests lie in quality of care, and he has previous experience as a lecturer at Imperial College, London.
