Two time Champion Trainer John Gosden has won over 3,000 races globally, including over 100 Group 1s in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
He has also won the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe twice, and has won almost 50 races at Royal Ascot, including the Prince of Wales’s Stakes and the Gold Cup. Gosden studied economics at Cambridge but says he never considered doing anything other than training, which was ‘in the blood’.
He began his career assisting two of the most successful trainers in history – Sir Noel Murless and Vincent O’Brien – before moving to California in 1979. He returned to the UK in 1989 and trained at Manton in Wiltshire, before settling at Newmarket’s Clarehaven Stables.
