Father-son duo John and David Silverman established The Vintage Watch Company in 1995 to showcase vintage Rolex wristwatches from 1910 to 1970. ‘Rolex soon outsold everything else we had on offer, and I mean to a huge degree,’ says John Silverman, ‘so we started to wonder whether we could dedicate a whole store to one brand. It felt like a risky move, but it’s paid off.’
The pair say they now have a collection of over 1,000 pieces, as well as ‘an unrivalled collection’ of the rarest vintage Rolex sports watches. Their website’s recent translation into Russian, Arabic, Chinese and Japanese reflects an ever-expanding international client base. They claim to be ‘the destination store for the world’ when it comes to vintage Rolexes.
