A childhood visit to grandparents in Egypt can be pinpointed as the moment that ignited Laetitia Delaloye’s love for the ancient world. The Swiss born Egyptology graduate joined Christie’s in 2007 as an intern rising to become its head of Antiquities in 2016.
Christie’s has an international reach that is unrivalled aroud the world, with four sales annually, held in both London and New York.
‘As an investment, antiquities are a secure value like the Swiss franc, although most people buy for passion and pleasure,’ says Delaloye. ‘The aesthetic and historical appeal of these pieces – with impeccable provenance – is undeniable. Their value has soared in the last 10 years, and they continue to go up.’
