Miranda Fisher has the personal touch when working with clients within the context of a full-service firm. Named Family Lawyer of the Year at the 2018 Spear’s Wealth Management Awards, she is, says one observer, ‘already a star’.
Fisher joined Charles Russell in 2004, having previously been at Stephenson Harwood, where her mentor was Jonathan Walsh. It was a rapid rise: she made partnership in 2008. Fisher is known for HNW cases, from prenups to complex financial disputes involving trusts and offshore asset structures and children matters. Over the years she has become well known for cases involving the Russian Federation and the Middle East.
Fisher also recently spoke at STEP Arabia in Abu Dhabi on the treatment of pre and post-nuptial agreements in the Sharia Court. Another strength is representing sports stars: she currently acts for various Premier League footballers. Her approach is open-minded, aiming for a positive result: ‘Most clients want settlement without acrimony or expense,’ she explains.
‘Sometimes this is possible, in which case I will ensure it happens. Sometimes it is not, in which case I will ensure the client gets the best possible result in court.’
In addition to her international client base, she acts for business owners, entrepreneurs and City professionals. She is also the co-author of Privacy and Disclosure for Family Lawyers for Resolution, and Child Contact: Law and Practice for Law Society Publishing.
