As a valued board member of the International Association of Dealers in Ancient Art, and vice chairman of the Antiquities Dealers Association in the UK, few dealers come more qualified than Rupert Wace.
His eponymous Mayfair gallery has been in the district for over 30 years, and has handled some of the finest and most important ancient works on the market.
Specialising in ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities, he has worked on several private sales, including that of the British Rail Pension Fund. He also counts museums such as the Louvre among suitors. The antiquities market, he says is ‘strong for pieces of quality – with good provenance and, of course, beauty.’
