One of the fastest-growing safari companies, Yellow Zebra Safaris prides itself on being a company of on-the-ground safari experts. ‘We design trips we would go on ourselves,’ says Julian Carter Manning, who founded the firm with childhood friend Rory Walker. With the average booking costing £15,000, and a top end of around £5,000 a day, these are once-ina- lifetime holidays. On its roster are some of the most luxurious boutique hotels in the unlikeliest of places, such as Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, which sits on the rim of the extinct volcano itself. It also offers exclusive private reserves in Africa: Zarafa Camp in Botswana, set up by National Geographic photographers Dereck and Beverly Joubert, is a favourite.
